Asset Noun/Modifier Dictionary

Definition

Our Asset Noun/Modifier Dictionary is a cataloging methodology for managing asset master descriptive data. It provides a two-tiered classification scheme that delivers consistent and repeatable rules to characterize and catalog assets—consisting of a family of mutually exclusive Nouns/Modifier pairs (a proper name such as “Pump”) and Modifiers (a descriptive word or phrase such as “Centrifugal”), as well as associated Attributes that describe general asset characteristics (such as “Inlet Size,” and “Inlet Connection”).

The Asset Noun/Modifier Dictionary helps organizations develop and maintain clean, structured asset master data. See examples from our industry-standard Asset Noun/Modifier Dictionary below.

Purpose

The Asset Noun/Modifier/Attribute Library is used to develop and maintain clean and structured asset data.
